ELEMENTS OF NATURE
two trumpets (about 10.5 minutes)
The four elements of nature, according to early Greek philosophers, are fire, earth, water, and wind (although Aristotle added a fifth: ether). Other ancient cultures independently came up with similar lists. For example, Chinese philosophy had five elements: earth, fire, water, metal, and wood. Each of the movements of Elements of Nature (2003) represent one of the four elements attributed to Plato.
